Returns and Warranty Policy

Returns

Please read the following carefully to ensure you are fully aware of your rights under the policy and our obligations to you.

WHEN YOU CHANGE YOUR MIND

Australian Consumer Law states that the retailer is not required to provide a refund or replacement if you merely change your mind, however, Fletcher Cricket will fully refund or exchange your purchase under the following conditions:

  •  You have returned the purchase within 14 days (some exclusion apply).
  •  The purchase is returned in a saleable condition with original proof of purchase. 
  •  The customer is responsible for return postage costs.


By saleable condition we mean that the purchase has been returned in it's original condition and unused.

We reserve the right not to offer an exchange or refund where we deem the purchase to have been used and not in it's original condition.

The refund will be provided using your original payment method.

OTHER RETURNS

Fletcher Cricket will accept returns and provide you with an exchange, refund or repair where:  

  • The purchase is faulty or is not of acceptable quality, or 
  • The purchase is not fit for its intended purpose, or
  • The purchase does not match the sample or our description; and
  • You can present a Fletcher Cricket receipt/invoice or other adequate proof of purchase.

We reserve the right not to offer an exchange, refund or repair where the item fault is a result of misuse or neglect. (please see our Warranty Policy)

PROOF OF PURCHASE

Returns, refunds, exchanges or repair requests must be accompanied by any one of the following proof of purchase documents:

  • Register receipt
  • Online Tax Invoice/Receipt 
  • Financial statements such as a bank statement, credit card statement

REFUND METHOD

Please complete and submit the Online Refund Request Form prior to returning the item. If you have any queries regarding your request, please contact our online customer service team at fletchercricket@bigpond.com  Once we receive and approve your request, we will organise the return of your item/s. Your exchange, refund or repair will be arranged promptly following the return of you item/s. 

Please Note:

  • In the case where item/s are exchanged or repaired, Fletcher Cricket will be responsible for return postage costs.
  • In the case where the item/s are being refunded due to Change of Mind the customer is responsible for return postage costs.

Warranty

GENERAL INFORMATION

Cricket bats are made of raw, natural materials - willow and cane - and as such are susceptible to wear and tear or damage if not properly cared for. Bat preparation is essential for the prevention of damage and longevity of your bat. Failure to correctly follow the Fletcher Bat Preparation recommendations may nullify your warranty.

Willow is a soft wood, and due to the nature of a hard cricket ball continually hitting your bat throughout its lifetime, small cracking and minor indentations may appear on the face of the bat. This is a normal occurrence and does not affect the performance of your bat. Regular maintenance at the start and finish of a season - light sanding and oiling -  will help reduce this natural wear and tear.  

Remember your bat is not indestructible - care for it properly to get the most out of it.


CRICKET BAT WARRANTY

Fletcher Cricket offer a 12 month warranty on manufacturing and material faults for all our brand name bats. Bats must be returned with proof of purchase to support any claim under warranty. Please read carefully the following details our warranty covers and does not cover.

COVERED by WARRANTY 

  • Broken handle caused by defective material or manufacturing fault.
  • Cracks in the cleft. 
  • Splits in the shoulder

NOT COVERED by WARRANTY

  • Yorker damage to the toe of the bat.
  • Damage that occurs due to lack of knocking/playing In.
  • Damage resulting by bats being machine prepared (not naturally played in).
  • Damage that occurs due to poor preparation/maintenance (e.g. lack of toe guard, over/under oiling etc).
  • Damage due to moisture (wet weather) or heat (do not leave in car boot/direct sunlight etc).
  • Damage from poor quality non-leather or composite balls (including bowling machine balls).
  • Improper use (including hitting things others than cricket balls - eg stumps, excessive tapping on ground).
  • The bat is not a FLETCHER brand bat.
  • Material alteration completed by a third party. ie another bat maker or company.

 WARRANTY RETURNS - BATS

If any damage occurs, the bat must be returned promptly to us in person or by courier/post. Minor repairs can easily be completed, whereas leaving damage unattended until beyond repair may be construed as neglect. Every bat is assessed on an individually basis and your claim will be processed in accordance to the Australian Consumer Law. 

WARRANTY RETURNS - OTHER EQUIPMENT

Fletcher Cricket will always endeavour to process warranty returns within a reasonable time frame and in accordance with ACCC Consumer Guarantees.  You can choose a refund or exchange if an item has a major fault.  This is when the item:

  • Has a problem that would have stopped someone from buying the item if they had known about it.  
  • Is unsafe.
  • Is significantly different from the sample or description.
  • Doesn’t do what we said it would, or what you asked for and can’t easily be fixed.
If the problem is a minor fault, we will repair the item within a reasonable time.

Please refer to the table below for all industry standard manufacturer warranty periods and guidelines.  Please note that the warranty period commences from the date of purchase.
